In a way I was suprised and well before this checked other sites, because that is an awful lot of extra to download if you do not have the game. If I am not understanding what stand alone means, well okay.
EA says Severed is "coming soon" to Xbox Live This is the same language I have seen at news at GS and other sites. EA provided little detail about the story, only saying that Severed runs parallel to Isaac Clarke's story in Dead Space 2. Players will take control of Gabe, who's stationed on the Sprawl as a security guard. Electronic Arts said today it will release a new single-player expansion for Dead Space 2 called "Severed." The pack includes two standalone (emphasis mine) chapters in the single-player campaign and sees the return of two characters from Dead Space Extraction, Gabe Weller and Lexine Murdock.
